Forresters Landing - Westport

It's blowing 14 knots gusting to 20 from the NW - perfect for Forresters Landing in Westport. As close to perfect snow as you can get and there is more coming down.
I'll be there all day, or until my legs give out.

Any updates on Westport? I'm thinking of coming up tomorrow. Where is Foresters Landing? Is it suitable for teaching a newbie? I'm looking for 100% snow cover and hopefully clean wind.

Thanks Don

Yep... it is freakin' windy!!! hahaha. The wind is coming in from the south so I'll try Westport Harbour (The Spring) to launch from. I should be there around 10 am or so

Re: Forresters Landing - Westport

Hey guys.

Corina and i went up to Westport on January 18th. What a great venue! The lake is large and it is 100% snow-covered right now. You can drive to the water's edge and there's a large dock to set your gear up on. You don't even need an ice-screw because you can tie onto the dock's cleats!

There's also restaurants closeby and even a light to de-rig by if you kite until dark!

Rob was there when we arrived and was a gracious host. We really enjoyed his company. If there's no snow along the Lake Ontario shoreline this is a great alternative spot!
