Re: Snow Kiting

How did you 401 travellers make out?
Ihad a nice session on the Little Cat,(just north across the road from elevator bay)under my 9.5 foil. By 2:00 pm the snow cover varied between 3" and 6" with the occasional bare ice spot. Better snow conditions there then at any time last year.
But it was gusty and at times the visibility was so bad I couldn't tell if I was moving or not. Spooky with those coyotes romping around.
Maybe i'll see you out there after work this week.

Re: Snow Kiting

Hey boys,

We (Ken, Jeff and myself) actually made it to Camden without much trouble. The driving was ridiculous but we made it all the way in,,, or within walking distance, but it was coming down like crazy and we knew that if we stayed we would be drifted in for sure. Made it back out and headed back for a short session at Lemoine. Super gusty, but we all rode and and survived.

This dump will hopefully be enough for Little Cat (E bay). If we do get the mild temps forcasted for later in the week it might gel a little and give us a base that will stay. For sure Camden is going to be off the hook! There is so much snow up there,,, cant wait.

We saw you out there Grant, but were on a timeline at the end so couldn't join you. Next time.

Later

Re: Snow Kiting

Just had a quick session on the north side of E bay (elevator bay aka Little Cataraque conservation area)

There is full snow coverage and its got enough depth to really be comfy. Nice and drifted at the edges. For those that are unfamiliar with the place, it can have faster moving water near the bridge and up in the channel to the north so steer clear of those areas at the edges of the season. The eastern side, middle and northern bay are all really good right now. Hopefully it will keep all the snow. For now its pretty near perfect in anything from south through the west half of the compass to north. Anything with east in it gets really gusty in there. For an east Camden East lake is a better option.

Hope to see people out there.
