I've only ever had some spliced line sewn there with their industrial machine but I've seen the repairs on other people's kites and they do good work. Probably not worth it for a 1 inch tear though. nondisclosed_email@example.com (csheriff)Thu, 11 Oct 2012 12:04:34 +0000 Re: Canopy Tearhttps://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2557,from=rss#post2557https://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2557,from=rss#post2557West Marine has both Dacron and Ripstop Nylon sailtape (I am sure other places have it in town as well). The Dacron is heavier duty but you'll probably be better off with the Ripstop if it is on the canopy (Dacron is good for the LE). Most kites come with a couple extra pieces in the same canopy colour so check your kite bag's inside pocket, etc. Just cut two pieces slightly larger than the hole and stick on both sides of the canopy. Make sure you lay the part with the tear out on a flat hard surface (you could use a plate or lid) and make sure there aren't any wrinkles and that the two sides of the tear line up when you apply the tape. With an inch tear this should be really easy. Also be sure to round the corners of the cut 'patches' so they have less chance of catching an edge and peeling off once applied. I've done much much larger tears with good success so far. I have a small one inch tear in the canopy near the LE. Or, is Kitefix a good option?nondisclosed_email@example.com (ashley920)Thu, 11 Oct 2012 08:53:06 +0000
