That was fun today. Sort of a bonus wind considering the forecast (why do we pay those guys??) I was happy to be on the water for so long even though it was blowing from two directions at the same time! A tad choppier than usual too. I wonder if the streak will continue tomorrow?nondisclosed_email@example.com (Brian Watson2)Mon, 02 Jul 2012 20:46:07 +0000 Re: NW on Wolfe islandhttps://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2352,from=rss#post2352https://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2352,from=rss#post2352already dealing with it.........nondisclosed_email@example.com (Tickittyboo)Mon, 02 Jul 2012 16:18:41 +0000 Re: NW on Wolfe islandhttps://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2351,from=rss#post2351https://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2351,from=rss#post2351Bri is the internet wiz. nondisclosed_email@example.com (windego)Mon, 02 Jul 2012 14:55:44 +0000 Re: NW on Wolfe islandhttps://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2349,from=rss#post2349https://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2349,from=rss#post2349who can do that? administrator like ken or brent?nondisclosed_email@example.com (Brian Watson2)Mon, 02 Jul 2012 11:08:00 +0000 Re: NW on Wolfe islandhttps://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2348,from=rss#post2348https://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2348,from=rss#post2348Racing and board design section even better. nondisclosed_email@example.com (windego)Sun, 01 Jul 2012 11:10:18 +0000 Re: NW on Wolfe islandhttps://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2347,from=rss#post2347https://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2347,from=rss#post2347hmmm, I think I do have some ridiculous kitesurfing footage from the PUC but it's mostly of me (and Dave Mody ). So, what about a Gear discussion section so the non nerds don't have to see the words 'race' or 'foil' or 'thermoformed disconbopulator'. Oh, maybe it could just be called the 'Racing' section? nondisclosed_email@example.com (Brian Watson2)Sun, 01 Jul 2012 01:13:26 +0000 Re: NW on Wolfe islandhttps://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2346,from=rss#post2346https://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2346,from=rss#post2346Today was awesome here and it is still rockin. Tangents are good, especially when sharing some stoke. Speaking of tangents, Brian you mentioned a while ago that you've got a bunch of video laying around from the PUC, etc. I know you've got some up on your Youtube account but you should post more of them up there. Especially any with Brent wearing funky shorts and pulling 'Airstyle' tricks... nondisclosed_email@example.com (csheriff)Fri, 29 Jun 2012 12:12:08 +0000 Re: NW on Wolfe islandhttps://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2344,from=rss#post2344https://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2344,from=rss#post2344Special olympics maybe . Yes, got off on a tangent there. I guess we need a Gear discussion section for Big Bang kitesurfing nerds. Just messing around like mad scientists. But what's going on in SanFran is impressive though...those guys travel the world and kick ass. Looks like many will be heading to sandbanks(whole province of quebec?) if the wind is offshore AGAIN.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Brian Watson2)Fri, 29 Jun 2012 08:42:29 +0000 Re: NW on Wolfe islandhttps://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2343,from=rss#post2343https://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2343,from=rss#post2343Are you dudes going to the Olympics? I'm just going to sandbanks. Nice forecast this aft.nondisclosed_email@example.com (brent4336)Fri, 29 Jun 2012 07:40:02 +0000 Re: NW on Wolfe islandhttps://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2342,from=rss#post2342https://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2342,from=rss#post2342Having windsurfed before helps because riding with big foils is nothing like riding a twin tip. Had lots of trouble my first few attempts because I kept trying edge like I was on a TT. But after a half hour I think I was pointing at 45 degrees (same as laser?) my first time out but it could've been my imagination. Definitely better than a TT at about half that ie. 20 degrees well powered. I plan to screw around with fins (sub in some old power box fins I have and try no canting to see what happens etc) once I'm comfortable riding it in the std set up. I wish I had middle back finbox like the new boards so that I could also try riding with 3 fins. A middle back footstrap is on my wish list also. oh, and an Ozone edge kite. In regard to your 60cm wide custom, I think you should just get out on something asaps. Don't worry about it being ideal (mikes lab's latest?!) It's all about learning and making mistakes at this point. We have a lot of catching up to do - San Fran guys have a two year jump on us . So, how soon can your board be ready?? nondisclosed_email@example.com (Brian Watson2)Fri, 29 Jun 2012 00:57:51 +0000 Re: NW on Wolfe islandhttps://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2337,from=rss#post2337https://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2337,from=rss#post2337That is exactly what I am doing using some blades I have. A new set of three Rista ss over $500 ouch. I am going to set the fronts at4deg with the box. This board is only 60cm so now that 70 is standard I might just as well get it together now and learn from my mistakes. How is the upwind riding on your new toy? It must be really different. Ken says even on his board it is crazy.nondisclosed_email@example.com (windego)Wed, 27 Jun 2012 15:18:16 +0000 Re: NW on Wolfe islandhttps://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2334,from=rss#post2334https://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2334,from=rss#post2334I can definitely see less cant on the new 3 fin boards. You should just use old windsurfing blades and see what happens before shelling out big bucks. I don't understand it yet but will have a better idea once I play around with the fins. my board has power boxes so I can try some of old ws fins. 613-583-8902 call or text if you come through town today and have a few minutes. I might be around to show my new gear.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Brian Watson2)Wed, 27 Jun 2012 10:07:07 +0000 Re: NW on Wolfe islandhttps://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2332,from=rss#post2332https://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p2332,from=rss#post2332I need to get the fin boxes set.
