the skinny on racing at CORK
GREAT NEWS: kiteboard racing will be replacing pole-dancing at the 2016 olympics in Rio.

Equipment limitations are: boards must fit the 'box rule':not more then 190 cm long;not more then70 cm wide; fins no longer then 50 cm.
Race rules are ISAF with appendix DB.

So who's trying out for Rio?

I'm in... I just hope my 'board' will qualify. I'm just now trying to figure out how to ride it...lol Let's just say it is very different.

Re: the skinny on racing at CORK
Hey Rob
Show us your board! I didn't know you were a builder.
Mine is sitting on the bench waiting for some love. It is only 60cm wide and may be better for a lighter rider in comps. Maybe a new piece of foam will get hacked into a "70cm box".
Cheers
Stan

LOL - no, I don't build boards, but I have a theory. If it works, you'll be the first to know and I'll show ya! If it doesn't, well, I'll show ya anyway. Tomorrow will be the first trial...lol

Re: the skinny on racing at CORK
Home depot has 3in 1.5lb density in 2x8ft. If you want a 70cm you need to add a bit unfortunately. But since is all accurately cut it makes a good starting point compared to hot wiring out from a big block.

Re: the skinny on racing at CORK
For a canadian supplier noahsmarine.com is pretty good all around. Worth the drive to pick up all the bits like fairing compounds, paint etc.
For a US supplier
http://greenlightsurfsupply.com/
I really like the resin research epoxy from greenlight. But their shipping is ridiculous expensive.
