More about CORK

Talked to CORK managment. There would be no restrictions on equipment unless some of the competitors want a group with IKA rules or whatever. Like the boardsailing events, they would race different classes all together.
3 days in August , over a weekend , maybe.
Apparently there are Canadian Kiteboarding Association race rules.
Fee would be $100-$200 depending upon number of race days.
The boardsailors were unhappy about the kiters racing with them last year. A possible threshold number of competitors to do kiteboard races in 2012 is 15. Course support volunteers need to be recruited.
You cannot yet register to race kite at cork.org as decision to go ahead is not yet taken. But registering enthusiasm will help get a go-ahead. Final commitment and payment isn''t necessary until close to race date. I am happy to keep CORK management aware of numbers of local riders who might want to race or support, through this forum. I will post further developments as I'm aware. (I hang out near the Cork office.)
