Sunday Jan 9

Wind is looking good for tomorrow.

How was the ice on EBay over by the channel? Trying to decide between there or Camden. A lot more room and fresh snow at the latter but a longer drive.

Either way we need a kicker.

I've been looking at the rideau too but scared of the undercutting of ice from warmer waters of Lake Ontario flowing in and out under the causeway bridge...

I was out late afternoon today with the NW 15 Knot wind at Fort Henry - great powder skiing in the bowl (sorry very little untracked pow left for anyone... now as i've trashed it in 2 hours of running it back and forth) A good spot but have to be very careful (and considerate) of little kids on far side sledding. Then there is the fort's moat, parking lot and some signs to get tangled in if not careful.. otherwise awesome spot - and they even light the bowl up at night so was kiting well after dark! Who would have thought Kingston had night skiing!

Night kiting is awesome.

If and when the big lake gets solid and snow covered its one of the great novelties of winter riding. If there is any moon and clear skies its pretty magic. With all that white snow visibility is ridiculous. You can easily see your lines all the way to your kite and if there is a full moon you can sometimes see your kites shadow.
