Re: ice
Was out today checking - we have 4 inches on our lake. I'll check the Upper Rideau first thing in the morning. It's pretty cold tonight so we'll probably add 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch overnight. By the weekend it should be good to go in Westport!

Re: ice
Bri and Brent checked out Camden lake last week. Bri said it was solid but no snow.

Re: ice
You gotta go looking for snow. Everywhere but here seems to have it! Tug Hill across the border is tempting. I bet the ice is safe up at camden lake, (it was last fri) but there aint no snow. Up to you if your into riding on straight up ice. I gave up on it a couple years ago. Maybe with skates, but my hockey skates have too much rocker. Can be fun with a tiny kite.

Re: ice
I've been thinking about doing a run down to Tug's Hill for the last couple years but never made it happen. I'd like to time it just after they get a huge dump and get some fresh powder to make it worthwhile.
Here's a link that shows snow depth close to the spot(s) (from a thread on KF):
http://www.northernchateau.com/webcam.html
That said, none of the spots look to be all that big - so I dunno. The one spot (Hanno's, I think it's called) looks to have less ridable area than EBay does on the inside.
I just hope this winter is better than last year. I got desperate and went out on skates a couple times last year when we had ice and no snow. Better than sitting on the couch but no substitute for some fresh pow and a downwinder...
