Re: epic forecast for weekend
We had 25-30 knots till 10:30 and then it ramped all day. Bruce went out early and had a great sesh but I snoozed and it was too windy for my 8 the rest of the day. Huge waves too.

Re: epic forecast for weekend
I came in eventually as it was building and too much for my 9m. Could have gone back out on a 7, but it was too gusty for me, and survival instinct took over. Dave and Brian had sessions on a 7 at the docks, and got some great air.
The waves were great, huge rollers ....

Re: epic forecast for weekend
It was 5-6m2 (or very depowered 7) wind at sandbanks yesterday, and later in the afternoon more like 4-5m wind. I saw guys getting held down to launch 5m kites. When I got there about 11am a bunch of people were riding 7m kites, I put mine up for 10 seconds and then put it right back down -too strong for me. Apparently earlier in the morning it was a little better. Everyone I talked to said super gusty. Looked like fun if you had the right gear. The waves were huge.

Re: epic forecast for weekend
Rode a 7m at Sandbanks between 11 and noon. HUGE WAVES!! The biggest rollers I have ever been in. Amazingly fun. The first ride out I was trying the waist harness (I have been using a seat one for 3 years now) because I wanted to get back to using a waist one. Not the day to try new things...
Brent, I hope you had a great afternoon and got out Sunday as well.

Re: epic forecast for weekend
Sunday was more kiteable. I had 2 sessions on my 10 and the last one I held on till there was no way to saty down. What a geat feeling floating around up there. Bruce closed it down with his 7m.

Re: epic forecast for weekend
Killer!!!!
Sat was lit 6m alllllll day. First half was all surfboard and second half was so lit I had to go boots. Rode north of that killer squal that ripped through in the early aft. No drama, but I stayed well north of it. Riding on a south tack you felt like you were riding into a black hole! Heading north it was sunny skies.
Stayed over at Iseah Tubs, ate a big steak and slept like a stone. Hit west lake Sun am for a flat water warm up. Perfect on a 10 to get the lead out and then over to the beach for a day of 10m in the surf and lastly a super powered sesh on the 14 in the river mouth flats. Super fun.
Back out yesterday in town early to keep the streek alive in really nice K-town rolly polly stuff.
Tired legs and smelly car! Gonna try to hit the beach again tomorrow.
Incidentally there was a pretty good size crowd at outlet both days. I rode sabx the sat, but gave in to the draw of nicer waves and joined the masses at outlet on Sun. Park authorities left a leaflet letting us know they want us up north at sandbanks.
