wind display


The windspeed reported here seems to always read much higher than the EC airport reading.
What gives?

For example right now it says 15knots yet the airport in 7knots.

It has to do with our local dynamics and their locations. Winds mix better over the lake and have a cleaner exposure to mix, while the trees and the like inhibit the airport. Plus, the shoreline funnels the winds into the downtown, giving us a bigger boost then the airport.
