holy light-wind-weapon batman !
here i am going home after work, thinking to myself "what a great sunny day, too bad there's not a puff of wind." Then I see a kite floating across the waterfront. WTF ? I wonder what 89 lb featherweight managed to get a kite pulling him in this wind. Is Belshaw back ? Is this some newcomer 11 year old who kites ?
Then I realize it is Ken ! KEN !!!! (sorry Ken, no offence, but an 89 lb featherweight you ain't).
iKitesurf says it was 8 pmh. Forget whitecaps, there was barely a ripple on that lake. And Ken is making ground upwind and boosting everytime he passes the PUC dock.
Either that man has sold his soul to the devil for a summer of light wind sessions, or that Flysurfer has mystical powers. Or both ......

Re: holy light-wind-weapon batman !
It's a bit of both.
oh and no offence taken.
For sure that kite will be opening up way more kiting days for me. Now I know that I can go and have a fun time as long as there is a bit of a breeze. Looking forward to this summer.
Ken

Re: holy light-wind-weapon batman !
That big kite may be the best investment you can make for your quiver unless you weigh 110lbs. The $/ride will be much lower than any other kite in town....except my 19 FS muhahaha.

Re: holy light-wind-weapon batman !
The windmills show a tad north. Good breeze though.

Re: holy light-wind-weapon batman !
I should have mentioned that a big part of that low wind ride comes from the "barn door" that Stan built. That thing is a low end beast too. Put it with the speed 19 deluxe and I don't think a person can ride in anything lighter than that combo can.

Re: holy light-wind-weapon batman !
Not 19m weather out there. Just scarfed a nooner and its was plenty windy on a 10m No wind on the inside, but out there its nukin in the gusts. Wacky spring wind the keeps you on your toes. My first domestic session of the season.
No doubt you boys will be happy with those big foils in the lulls of August. I know I'll be wanting a turn.
