The new flysurfer hot launches right down the middle of the wind window, it goes up semi inflated and fully inflates at apex. So there is just enough room out at the end of the dock or in close to the pipe on the lawn there for me to launch the beast. There is plenty of room inside the fence though, for an inflatable to be launched, and the ground is in good shape there. Just not sure if we'll be pi$$ing anyone off by launching there. As for the dome effect, yeah I suppose, there isn't any wind in close to shore, but again the flysurfer is such a light wind beast that I was able to get up and ride out to where the real wind was, and just de-power it. When I came back in to the dock, there was no wind at all in there, so I just dumped my kite in the water in our little slick and swam the last 100 feet or so. All in all it was a fun time. Just a warning though, I went down yesterday for a session and launched my kite only to have the wind die on me and then switch north. Had I gotten there half an hour earlier that would have happened with me on the water rather than the land. Suckage!! It seems to me that this happened a fair bit last year in the spring. So if you do go out, watch for it. It seems that the wind get's a bit fluky, dies, then shifts off shore. Be careful. See you out there, Kennondisclosed_email@example.com (Tickittyboo)Mon, 19 Apr 2010 15:29:31 +0000 Re: Wow who is going out today?https://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p1307,from=rss#post1307https://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p1307,from=rss#post1307hey Ken, did you go off PUC ? How's the launching and landing and exiting the water there with all the construction fencing ? Did you find any issues with wind doming ?nondisclosed_email@example.com (mikeb6)Mon, 19 Apr 2010 08:48:11 +0000 Re: Wow who is going out today?https://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p1306,from=rss#post1306https://bkiteboardingkingston.runboard.com/p1306,from=rss#post1306I went in last Wednesday in my 5/4mm wetsuit, booties toque, no gloves though.
