Re: Kite trip roll call

wow, i looked at the wind graph for Avon sound the last few days. I'm soooooo jealous. You guys have had 25 knots and warm days all week long !

save some wind for us ......

Collette must be doing some crazy kite-loops by now.

It was a really good trip, I spent quite a bit of time riding the new 7m waroo. Colette is progressing nicely. She had a great time too. We're already talking about next year.

hey Ken,
didn't notice your question till now,
we're heading down Thursday after work, 4 of us to drive overnight, hopefully be on the sound Friday morning.
Grant's going to be there the same time with his crew, so we'll hook up for some sessions. Should be good !

Re: Kite trip roll call

Nice .......
Got back last night (late). Had a couple days of light wind, followed by several of 25-30 knots. Lots of sessions juiced on a 9m. Did a nice long downwinder with Grant. Sunny and warm every day. Has anyone not noticed it is cold up here in Canada ?

Tom brought a surfboard. We tried some strapless fun on the ocean side. Took an hour or two get it dialed in, but got it finally. That was so much fun i bought a used surfboard. Can't wait to get it out on the lake.

Re: Kite trip roll call

Took me 6+ years of playing around to finally learn that the right surfboard is THE answer for: low wind cruising, Picton waves at their best, and Cold spring/late fall when booties are a must.

Took another year on a surfboard to really figure out what works best up here. Short small wave boards with a bit of a fish design are the ticket. Plenty of width and flat rocker for planing power on the light days, but still plenty wavey DNA to keep it curvy and fun once there is some swell to play in. Strapless is the way to go so you can find the right spot for your feet as it shifts around with different conditions and points of sail.

Glad to hear you guys scored some of the good stuff and will be playing with surfboards this summer. By the time fall hits you'll have is super dialed and can take it to the waves at SBX
