Did you guys get out?? I was warm In my livingroom and lazy and wasn't sure it looked like there was enough wind to make it worthwhile.

Re: Ebay Sunday

I got there about 10 and had a great session. Wind was pretty variable though with lots of lulls but some decent powder starting to build up. I left at 2pm and the snow was still going. Another little dump and it will be perfect. Might be time for a kicker...

Re: Ebay Sunday

Overall, it was just nice to get our locally! Brent, Grant, Paul LaCroix and his wife were all out on 10m to 15m LEIs...

Patchy wind and patchy snow with some slick glare ice below, but thoroughly frozen and ready to be thoroughly tracked. Good for wind directions from N around to S on the W side of the dial.

I can't remember seeing the bay so frozen when so much of the big lake is still wide open!

I'll be looking to get out there sat/sun the minute the wind is favorable.

I have never been to Ebay before. I recall Bri/Brent saying N to S on the west side of the dial is good there. North wind seems to be the story until sunday. With that said, don't you launch at the south end nearest the road? If so, wouldn't that make a N wind awkward as you gotta start tacking N hard right away? Or maybe i'm out to lunch here

no, you tend to access the pond from the small access road off Front Road. You end up a 100 m or so north of Front, and can set up a launch anywhere you like.
I wouldn't recommend getting to close to Front, not only because of traffic and power lines but the ice can get sketchy near where it flows under the road.

Re: Ebay Sunday

The 'shoreline' at the launch area kinda runs SW-NE but it is a bay and not very big so in most wind directions you aren't too far away from being in an onshore wind situation. In total, I think the ridable area Elevator Bay on the inside is only about 250m x 500m.

Anyway, if you aren't sure I'd just walk a bit futher upwind before setting up. I usually like to leave a bit of extra room especially if there are lulls and the potential of getting into hot launch situation when self launching.
