Night Kiting: Good idea? Bad idea?

What do you guys think? Would night kiting be fun, or just ridiculously unsafe? I'm thinking of picking up some red and green LED strips (nav lights) and putting them on my kite.
Amazon LED lights
They would be pretty easy to power with 3 small Lipo Cells in series and would give you a good idea of what the kite is doing. You could also make a pretty rad UFO. The strips tape on which I guess is the best you can do without sowing them in.

I can't deny thinking about this too. So far I have gone solo at night in the winter but never on the water - the moon is full these days and usually lights up the sky - I would probably use the moon and skip the led lights as your probably going to want to see the land too.

Cheers,

Michael

i've wondered about this too,
but I have to admit, my worry would be the kite drops, and now I'm floating in the dark with kite and 25m lines. There's not much boat traffic traffic at night, but if one did come your way, could get ugly.
