Skim Boarding
Yo,
I remember back last year there was this guy from South CA who came and road on a skimmer. The day was really light but him and that skim board where working really well. He had no pads - probably just some board wax - but you would have thought the thing was glued to his feet.
Has anyone tried to use a skim board with there kite - any tips? With or with out fins? If you could master a skim board it would make for some easy air travel I would think.
BTW I will be down at the PUC tonight having a Ritual Wind Dance now that I'm more or les back in town for the summer. Feel free to join me.
Cheers,
M

Re: Skim Boarding
Brent's done it, I don't see him doing it any more, so maybe there is an answer for you in that.
If I get a chance, I'll come dance with you.

Re: Skim Boarding
ha, nice vid Michael. I wonder if they'll let us hook a quiet bungee around the smokestack. We take off from the dock. We just need 1329 bungee cords. They're on sale at Canadian Tire. Let's do it.

Re: Skim Boarding
We have been bungee skiming by the lock in the early spring, not enough flow now. It gets kinda boring after a while, but its fun at sandbanks when the waves are up.
I use a skim a lot at sandbanks and in hatteras, I have just started using a wakesurfer down at the PUC docks.
It's very addictive! I got an extra skim with pads and wax if you want to try it out. I'll bring all my strapless toys down next time.

Re: Skim Boarding
Skims work great. Mine is too small and flexi. Just a little one I bought for my nephew to play with at sandbanks. Have ridden it a couple times, but its not the low wind machine a bigger one would be.
Finless is fun.
Wakesurfer would probably be great too.

Re: Skim Boarding
Yes I made one. Really fun with a small kite when its windy. Not so good in light air contrary to to what you read.
