Route to Hatteras...

Any tips on travelling to the OBX from Kingston? Preferred routes?

I'm thinking of sticking to the mainland I81 & I95 down to Hwy 64 this time rather than the Delaware/Chesapeake Bay route... Any experience with this?

Tx

Re: Route to Hatteras...

We came/went via the bridge/tunnel and smoked everyone home this year. Made good time on the trip down too.

Think its pretty much 6 of one half doz of the other and depends on traffic around baltimore and DC.

If your using GPS, have a good understanding of the route near DC. Comming home one year both another car and ours had separate, but lengthy screw ups. Ours was comming home, tired, late, and we missed one exit. The GPS sent us through the heart of the bar district at closing time. 1.5 hours in traffic later and the onramp it had us in search of no longer existed! Not happy with technology that night!

Have a great trip.

Thanks Brent.

We are leaving tonight and I'm still debating which way we'll go.

We have the GPS, but I have learning that sometimes it is not to be trusted as well.
