Now that what I'm talkin bout!
Things have been good lately!
Decent wind last week,,, Killer on Friday and allllllll day Sunday. Even those of you enslaved to work got enough to make the legs a bit weary this morning.
Shouts out the the rookie class! Starting to really get it! At least 3 new members to the upwind club lately! Nice work people. So great to see big smiles on faces when it first hits em that they are holding ground. It's one of those things, once you really get it, you've pretty much got it. Now... lets get you jumping!
On that note,,, am starting to get the new kites dialed in and figuring out how to get the lift. It's wayyy different from what I am used to. The SLE's have been dead easy to ride, but jumping is taking a little time to figure out. The Waroo's have definitely not dissapointed. A two kite quiver is definitely a reality. Really liking the pick up in turning speed and the fact that a 13 is my big kite, but still learning a lot about jumping and.... landing! Also takes some time getting used to the drop in power when you turn em tight. Feels like it wont take too long to get things sussed out enough to start unhooking a little more. Anyone wanting a demo, feel free to ask. These kites are really worth trying.
Lots of you guys are at the stage where a real planned downwinder would be great. The PUC is a great place to ride but there is a whole lake out there with lots of fun spots to hit. The shoal at snake island and salmon point are two that beg to be kited. Mr. mobius (our boat) is an option for any group that want to coordinate. (4 competent riders at 25 bucks a head) The car shuttle is also an option.
One of these days we should organize a little post ride beer and burger action!?
Later

Re: Now that what I'm talkin bout!
Hey Brent,
I read on the Best forum that the best way to maximize the power from the waroos is to give it little mini dives (wiggles if you will) instead of the big power dives that we're so used to from the c-kites. I tried it out yesterday, and man does it ever work well. Way more effective than the big dive. Have you played with this at all?
