SBX launch sites

Hey all,

I am thinking about going to sandbanks this weekend. I have never kited there in the summer peak season and I am wondering which locations you can launch from? I recall you can launch beside the outlet... The forecast is calling for south winds on Saturday. In that case Sandbanks beach (NW of outlet) may be the spot as i think it has better southern exposure, any ideas if you can launch there. Let's hope for some wind.

Stay away fron any place on the outlet beach (the south beaches), its not allowed there during the summer.
You have to goto the north beach (left at the stop sign once your in the park, go straight past the second stop sign). walk a ways down the beach (north), there will be a lot of montreal ppl there (non kiters).

the Dunes beach is the west lake launch. Make sure you walk north along the dunes to rig and stay away from the shallow beach that is likely full of children and swimmers. That launch is only good in a north through north east. Not very consistent, but if you see its a day like Wed with a decent north east breeze in the early morning try to get there well before noon. In the summer when the sun gets high and it gets hot it will almost always die off in the afternoon. Its usually gusty in there at the best of times, but I've had a few fun sessions there. Its either light wind cruising between lulls or full on gusty nukin when its N/NE.
